I'm using Word 2013 on a Windows 10 OS with JAWS 18. The default font in Word is set to default to Calibri 11 point. How can I change the default font to Times new roman 12 point.? Thanks.

Pull up your context menu by hitting shift-f10 or the applications menu. Scroll down through that menu,. and you'll see a font option. Go into it, and change whatever you want to change. You can up/downarrow in most of the options within that dialogue box.

These key strokes work perfectly on Word 2016, but not sure how they’ll do on 2013.
CONTROL + SHIFT + F. This brings up the font tab. Tab through the combo boxes and use up and down arrows to select what you want. Then just tab to OK and click it to save the changes.
Sometimes it's necessary to apply all the changes only after all editing within the document has been completed. Select all the text in the document with CONTROL + A, or position the cursor at the beginning of the document, hold down CONTROL + SHIFT and press the end key (#1 on the num pad), then CONTROL + SHIFT + F an select whatever changes you want.
Also, ALT + H, then F, then F again will bring you directly to the font edit combo box. Select the changes you want using the arrow keys. Then tab to the save button and click on it.
Unfortunately, I’m uncertain whether the options above will make the changes your default setting.

Do this:
First: ALT + H, then F, then N, to bring up the font dialog box. JAWS will say "font, edit combo, plus body." Arrow down to Times New Roman, or press T and then arrow down till you hear it.
Then, tab twice until you hear "size," then arrow down to 12.
Next, route JAWS to PC by pressing the JAWS key and the minus key on the num pad. Use the arrow keys to look around the dialog box.
Then at this point, at the bottom of the font dialog box there is a button labeled "set as default." Put the PC cursor over it and select this button by pressing the slash key or the left mouse button above your num pad.
Next, still with JAWS routed to PC, use the reading keys, or the arrow keys and you will see the following options, or radio buttons:
"Do you want to set the default font to Times New Roman, 12 pt, for:
This document only?
All documents based on the Normal template."
Select whichever one you want by clicking on it with the right mouse button.

2016 has a nifty "tell me what you want to do" box.
You get there by pressing alt, then arrow left. Type your request, and bang.
Smooth.
